Getting a good opening is a very important thing to win a chess game. If your opening is bad you want to try very hard in the middle game to win.

It is same as blogging too. But blog opening is not your first post. Blog opening is selecting a niche and selecting a domain name for your blog.

That decision also can change your life too.  Look of the following two sentences, how Darren Rowse describe about, how his life has been changed.

Back in 2002 I stumbled upon an article about ‘Blogging’. I didn’t know it at the time but that moment changed my life.

However, selecting a good blog topic and selecting a good domain name is very important for the success of your blog.

2. Pawn can be promoted as a queen

In chess, the pawn is a minor piece and the queen is a major piece. But in the end you can promote a pawn as a queen. That means if you play well you can get much work from a pawn.

What is the blogging lesson, you can get from this?

Think like this, a person lands on your blog to view a small post via a search engine. Then he will be a regular reader and he will buy a product from your affiliate link. So, that shows how much the small post worth.

So respect all your posts. If you write quality posts, don’t think much about traffic. Traffic will increase after few days, sometimes it takes few months. But don’t quit blogging because you can win.

3. King is the most important piece

King is the most important piece in a chess game. If you want to win, you must safe the king till you win.

In blogging, Content is the king. You can’t do anything without quality content as a blogger.

You can do many things to promote your blog like social media marketing, guestposting, blog commenting, forumposting, etc. But there is no point of doing such things without quality content. So always you should try to maintain quality of your blog.

In a previous post of mine, I shared 10 on-page optimization tips, but actually the most important thing is quality content for SEO. So remember that Google wants only the good content and it has been proved by the penguin update.

And also you can’t always depend on Google or social networks. You should be able to convert your new readers as blog subscribers. So the quality content is a must for that.

Are You a Successful Blogger?

Every blogger has a dream to be a successful blogger, but you can’t be a successful blogger in just one night or one month because it takes more time and also there is no any direct way to identify that you are a successful blogger.

I have heard in following words that bloggers identify themselves as successful bloggers.

1. I am a successful blogger because my blog has quality content.

Even if you have quality content, but if you don’t have much traffic you can’t be a successful blogger.
Remember that you are doing a blog for others not for yourself. So ONLY Quality content doesn’t mean that you have a successful blog.

2. I am a successful blogger because my blog has good traffic.

Do you have many visitors for your blog? Even if your answer is “Yes” it doesn’t mean that you are a successful blogger because if you create an illegal blog like “free commercial software download blog” or “free movies download blog” you can get a huge traffic very easily.

Those types of blogs always have a huge traffic. But you put the software owners and movie owners at a great disadvantage by letting the commercial products to be downloaded in that way.

But if you can create a useful software and give it free via your blog, there is no doubt that you are a important blogger for others.

 

3. I am a successful blogger because my blog has more comments.

Do you think that you are a successful blogger since your blog has more comments?

No. You are wrong. If you accept spam comments including great posts, thanks comments you can get more than 100 comments for every posts very easily.

 

4. I am a successful blogger because my blog makes more money for me.

But if you make money from unfair methods you aren’t a successful blogger.

4. If you create your blog for making money you should make money.
5. You should have loyal readers.

Do you want more guest posts?

If you are too busy you may have to accept guestposts. But if you don’t have good Alexa and PageRank, it is hard to get guest posts.

If you have a good Alexa and PageRank (Specially PageRank) you would have many guest posts request. So you can accept the quality posts from them. But if you don’t have good Alexa and PageRank, you won’t get this chance.

1. No clear idea about you web site in the home page

Some registration forms are too long. Your readers don’t like that type forms. So include only the necessary things for registration forms.

Don’t do this. If you are running a web site like radio channel, it is not a big problem.
If you want to play music, let the user do it.

Always try to create a simple navigation bar.

16. Advertisements links and normal links are in same colour
